Olstedt Logging offers Traditional Logging services that begins with the tree felling process where the tree fellers selectively cut down mature trees. They then will be limbed and bucked.
To transport the logs out of the forest, various methods are employed. Historically, this involved the use of horses or oxen to drag logs to a central location (skidding).
Now we use modern Machinery, like skidders, loaders and cable systems (yarders) to move logs efficiently.
Logs are then loaded onto log trucks for delivery to specific mills that process the logs.
Traditional Logging practices have evolved to incorporate considerations for environmental impact and sustainability. Techniques such as selective logging, reforestation, and adhering to regulations aim to minimize the ecological footprint of logging activities.
